A Smartphone for everyone
After several hours of research and comparison, we decided for the runner-up for an older version of the Apple smartphone, the iPhone 7 Plus. It is still one of the best smartphones and offers a little more than the smaller brother iPhone 7: brighter display, longer battery life, and extremely fast processor. Apple offers the iPhone 7 Plus in three memory sizes: 32 GB – 256 GB and an A10 processor with a total of 3 GB RAM.
The 5.5-inch Retina HD display achieves remarkable results in the test lab and is even brighter than the iPhone 7 with 625 cd/m². 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which is below average in the top model range. At 401 PPI, the pixel density is at an ambitious mid-range level, which doesn’t really matter to the display, as it still doesn’t reveal any single pixels and is fully convincing in all other categories. Although a VR application would be less enjoyable with it, Apple has not yet discovered this business area, at least externally. In addition, there is the pressure-sensitive 3D touch display that responds quickly and without problems.
Performance and Memory
Inside the iPhone 7 Plus is the A10 Fusion quad-core processor (APL1W24), which consists of two dual-core units, the more powerful of which, according to benchmark
apps such as Antutu, s clocked up to 2.33 GHz., as well as an M10 motion processor for monitoring the sensors in the device, option processor for monitoring the sensors in the device belongs to the chipset in the iPhone 7 Plus and a 3 GB LPDDR4 memory from Samsung. In addition, a six-core graphics unit of an unknown type, as well as an M10 motion processor for monitoring the sensors in the device, belong to the chipset in the iPhone 7 Plus and a 3 GB LPDDR4 memory from Samsung. Apple has developed one of the fastest devices with the iPhone 7 Plus. In terms of memory, at least in the highest configuration variant with 256 GB capacity, the expansion by means of a micro SD card becomes obsolete, but the 32 GB of the smallest memory variant Poweruser might not be enough. If two SIM cards are to be used, Apple does not have the right solution: A, dual SIM slot is not needed in Cupertino.
Camera, Video, and Battery
The iPhone 7 Plus is equipped with a dual-lens camera, the camera has a wide-angle lens of 12 MP and another one besides a telephoto lens also with 12 MP. As with iPhone 7, a quad – LED True – Tone Flash and a new flicker sensor were used. The front camera has a resolution of 7 MP. 4K video recording is also possible at 30 frames per second, full HD recording at 30,60 or 120 frames per second and in HD at 240 frames per second. The microphones of the iPhone 7 Plus capture ambient noise in a differentiated way, but unfortunately the clips are underlaid with slight noise in quiet recording situations. The lithium-ion battery in the iPhone 7 Plus has a capacity of 2,900 mAh and runs for a good 9:33 hours. The problem: To recharge the slightly larger battery, the Apple mobile phone needs about 3.5 hours.
The iPhone 7 Plus is for people who use your phone for many hours a day, because of the longer battery life it makes sense to buy one, a brighter display, double camera and an extremely fast processor. If you are not an Apple fan and are looking for something cheaper, but for almost the same quality, I would recommend OnePlus 5.
